Derek Baird, Sales Representative

Derek is a self-motivated individual that adheres to the belief that building and maintaining relationships are the keys to success. Derek’s understanding of how to market properties and negotiate deals puts his clients at an advantage for success. Early in his career, Derek started doing business with a number of land developers and builders. Working through the whole process of residential land development from start to finish. Derek has become an expert in land development, new home construction, residential resale real estate, investment real estate and financing. Over the years, Derek himself has become a mentor to many on how to make money in the real estate market. He truly loves what he does and is eager to share his knowledge.

David Baird, Broker

Real Estate born and raised! Officially starting in the industry at the age of 14 working reception, David promptly graduated to the construction side of things. Working construction through his schooling and beyond, culminated to more than a decade of experience. David started as a labourer worked up to roles as site-supervisor, project manager and estimator, experiencing all aspects from the physical build to management.

David’s schooling has provided a valuable dynamic to the real estate industry. David Graduated Queen’s University with an BA Honours degree in Economic providing a foundation in the study of markets. David moved on to combine two of his great passions Real Estate development and travel to complete his Masters degree at the University of Liverpool in Civic Design. This foundation has given David a dynamic set of skills to tap into everyday to provide our clients the highest level of service. 

James Baird, Broker

James is Derek’s youngest son and has grown up around real estate his whole life.  He started his working life in the construction industry.  After several years, James decided to follow in his parents footsteps and got his real estate licence.  As well as selling resale homes, James is experienced in the new home sector having worked for some of our top local builders selling new homes.  With his passion for interior design, James is perfectly suited for this industry.  To further his knowledge in the industry, he has also taken on the role of Office Manager at Royal LePage Baird Real Estate.

James has a flair for design and is an art lover, as well as being a technology junkie.  James is happy to share his knowledge with his clients. James is a lifelong resident of Durham Region and has great knowledge of the local market as well as the surrounding area. He is a proud husband and Dad to his wife and son, and their goldendoodle, Zoe.

Jennifer Caruk, Broker of Record

Jennifer Caruk is a highly experienced and respected real estate professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Jennifer is the Broker of Record at Royal LePage Baird Real Estate and has worked alongside Derek Baird for her entire career. With Jennifer's extensive real estate knowledge, dedication to her clients, and commitment to excellence, she is a valuable asset to anyone looking to buy or sell property in the area. 

Jennifer is a lifelong resident of Durham Region and currently resides in Clarington. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in both resale and new construction properties, and has helped numerous clients buy and sell real estate in Durham Region and beyond. She is known for her exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to her clients. She is also a devoted mother and wife, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling and road trips are a particular favourite, as they all her to explore new places and meet new people. 

Carrie Donaldson, Sales Representative

You want someone who knows the current trends, can see the big picture and will bend and reshape your own personal style without losing the foundation of who you really are.  Carrie has redefined the meaning of design and has made it her purpose on the Derek Baird Team to share as much of her knowledge and experience as she can to ensure our clients select the best finishes possible within their budget.
